Patch Studios is an artist-run initiative in the Binckhorst, The Hague. Since 2021, Patch has grown into a shared infrastructure for interdisciplinary artistic practice. It operates as a production base with equipped facilities, a stepping stone for emerging artists, an artists’ living room and a public platform for experimental art. Twelve artists from eight countries share an 800 m² former industrial building with individual workspaces and shared production areas, including wood and metal workshops, a project space, theatre space and a sound studio.
Emerging from the ArtScience Interfaculty of KABK and KC, Patch focuses on large-scale installation, artistic research, performance practice, sound-based work, and the creative repurposing of tools and technology. Patch produces public events including performances, concerts, exhibitions, and Open Studios, while also opening its space to external artists and makers for collaboration, production and presentation. It functions as a commons where artists share tools, knowledge and support while connecting artistic practice to wider social contexts.
